Careers UAE 2007 Offers Tremendous Employment Opportunities


7th edition of Careers UAE grows by 110% to offer talented UAE Nationals unique opportunities in the burgeoning job market

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Careers UAE 2007, under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and organised by Dubai World Trade Centre, announced at the press conference today that the exhibition has grown by a record 110%.

Speakers at the prestigious event today included Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General, Dubai World Trade Centre; Jamal Al Hai, Board of Trustees and Member of the Federal Council, Tanmia and Ministry of Labour; Azza Al Sharhan, Managing Director, Emirates National Development Programme; Dr Haword Reed, Director - Dubai Women College, Higher Colleges of Technology; Denise Jifford, Dean of Students, Zayed University; and representative from UAE University.

Commenting on the growth of the Careers UAE exhibition, Mr Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of DWTC said, "The support from the industry for the Careers UAE 2007 has been overwhelming. I take this opportunity to thank our main supporter the Ministry of Labour, our sponsors, Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Standard Chartered Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, HSBC, Dubai Islamic Bank, and Al Khazna Insurance Company. In addition I would like to thank our partners Tanmia, Emirates National Development Programme, Higher Colleges of Technology, Zayed University, UAE University and our associate partner Dubai Quality Group."

Occupying a total exhibition space of over 19,000sqm, Careers UAE 2007 will gather leading companies from various sectors, including Financial Services, Hospitality & Tourism, Oil & Gas, and Training and Education. The exhibition will play host to 179 companies across Government, Semi-Government, Multi-National and Private sectors, with leading participation from Dubai Holding, Dubai International Financial Centre, Dubai eGovernment, DP World, Dubai World, Dubai World Central, Department of Civil Aviation/ Government of Dubai, and Al-Futtaim Group.

In addition to being the ideal event for Companies and UAE Nationals to meet and explore new and exciting job opportunities, Careers UAE is keenly involved with universities to provide attending UAE Nationals the chance to participate in focused workshops and training courses. There will also be exclusive ladies -only session for UAE national women looking to meet recruiters and learn more about the opportunities available to them in the UAE job market.

Commenting on the unique Training opportunities offered at the event, Mr Al Marri added, "During the event, visitors can also take part in free, specialised training courses which allow nationals to improve their career skills by interacting with professional training managers. The free workshops have always been a popular feature of our Careers fair."

In addition to the exhibition, the Ministry of Labour and DWTC will jointly host the Careers UAE 2007 Gala Dinner and Emiratisation Awards Ceremony on 13 March. Other highlights at Careers UAE 2007 include a HR Competition Quiz, Damas – Tanmia Career Quiz 2007, Panel Discussions on 'Inspiring Entrepreneurs' and 'Women Achievers', and NAPO Workshops.

Careers UAE 2007 will bring together top names in business and UAE Nationals looking to enter the burgeoning job market, and is expected to welcome more than 17,000 visitor footfall over the three days of the exhibition.

Open exclusively for UAE Nationals, Careers UAE 2007 will be held in Halls 1 & 2 and Zabeel Hall at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC). The event will take place from 13 – 15 March 2007 and is open from 10 am to 8 pm daily.
