Record Breaking Careers UAE Exhibition Opens To Strong Industry Support


HH Sheikh Hamden bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and Industry inaugurates Careers UAE 2007

Careers UAE 2007 was formally inaugurated today by HH Sheikh Hamden bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and Industry, United Arab Emirates.

His Highness toured the exhibition, which has gathered more than 179 exhibitors from government sectors, international organisations, local companies, and private enterprises, covering a wide spectrum of sectors including Financial Services, Hospitality & Tourism, Oil & Gas, and Training and Education.

With a record growth of 110% in exhibition space over last year, Careers UAE looks set to cement its position as the leading recruitment, training and education exhibition in the region

The opening ceremony of Careers UAE was also graced by the presence of His Excellency Ali bin Abdulla AlKaabi, Minister of Labour. As the official supporter of Careers UAE, the Ministry of Labour plays an active role in the development of the event, and will jointly host the inaugural Careers UAE 2007 Gala Dinner and Emiratisation Awards Ceremony with DWTC.

Commenting on the alliance, Mr Helal Saeed Al Marri - Director General of DWTC - said, "On a strategic level, this partnership between the Ministry of Labour and Careers UAE increases the reach of this event. I feel that this alliance will encourage more National youth to come and benefit from the many training sessions and networking opportunities we have on offer."

Careers UAE 2007 has also received strong partnership participation from Tanmia and the Emirates National Development Programme. The support from leading UAE universities such as Higher Colleges of Technology, Zayed University, and UAE University has also provided encouragement for UAE Nationals to attend. The Universities are organising a series of conferences at Careers UAE 2007 with notable guest speakers.

Commenting on some of the speakers at the conferences, Ms. Basma Ali, Career Education Coordinator Career Services & Alumnae Relations Office from Zayed University said, "We have invited Mohammed Saeed Harib, creator of Freej, the pioneering Arabic 3D animated series as a speaker. In addition, we will have the National entrepreneur, Ahmed Shabib, creator of Brownbag.ae, Dubai's first online delivery company."

With strong industry support from government organisations and private companies, as well as its sponsors Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Standard Chartered Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, HSBC and Al Khazna Insurance Company, Careers UAE 2007 looks set to be a resounding success.

Events taking place alongside Careers UAE 2007 include the Tanmia National Human Resource Competition 2007, the Tanmia – Damas Career Quiz 2007, Panel Discussions on ‘Inspiring Entrepreneurs’ and ‘Women Achievers’, and NAPO Workshops.

Open exclusively for UAE Nationals, Careers UAE 2007 will be held in Halls 1 & 2 and Zabeel Hall at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).
