Careers UAE 2007 Presents Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony for the Industry


Prominent Companies honoured with Emiratisation Awards at Prestigious Event

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The 7th edition of the annual Careers UAE concluded its first day with record number of visitors and with an evening of the Careers UAE 2007 Gala Dinner and Emiratisation Awards Ceremony jointly hosted by the Ministry of Labour and Dubai World Trade Centre.

The inaugural awards ceremony honoured various companies for their contributions in enhancing the role of nationals in their respective sectors as well as bolstering the Emiratisation drive across various industries. The event was graced by several dignitaries including H.E. Dr Ali bin Abdulla Al Kaabi, Minister of Labour.

The Emiratisation Award winners in the Banking Sector were HSBC Middle East and Dubai Islamic Bank. The Emiratisation Award in the Insurance sector went to Dubai Islamic Insurance and Re-Insurance – Aman.

In the Trade Sector, the Emiratisation Award was presented to Al Futtaim L.L.C., Union Cooperative Society, as well as BP Exploration Operations Company.

Jumeirah International won the Emiratisation Award in the Semi-Government Sector while the Department of Civil Aviation (Government of Dubai) together with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company – ADNOC bagged the Award in the Government Sector.

Mr Helal Saeed Al Marri - Director General of DWTC said, "I would like to thank the Ministry of Labour and Tanmia for hosting the Emiratisation Awards Ceremony at this Careers UAE 2007 Gala Dinner, and congratulate all winners for their commitment to developing and encouraging local talent to expand their career opportunities. The resolute contribution from the winners towards empowering nationals has underscored the increasing significance of the Emiratisation drive across the commercial and industrial sectors."

The Careers UAE 2007 will run until 15 March and is the largest edition in the exhibition’s history featuring 179 exhibitors. Careers UAE offers the ideal platform for ambitious and career-oriented UAE Nationals to network with representatives from leading companies ranging from Financial Services, Oil & Gas, Hospitality & Tourism to Publishing, Design and other industrial sectors.

The Event will also feature numerous free workshops, training courses and seminars. Careers UAE also features a unique 'Ladies-only' sessions to enable talented Emarati women to determine more prospects available in the UAE job market, and how they can contribute to the growth of the UAE.

Open exclusively for UAE Nationals, Careers UAE 2007 will be held in Halls 1 & 2 and Zabeel Hall at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).
The event will take place from 13 – 15 March 2007 and Opening Hours are:
