Enjoy an exciting ride through the wonderful world of equestrian activity at DIHF 2007

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

There’s lots of excitement in store at this years Dubai International Horse Fair (DIHF) 2007, taking place 1 – 4 March 2007 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

As the region’s largest exhibition for equestrian equipment, services and care products visitors to the event can see over 200 international and regional companies showcasing the latest products and services, as well as a fantastic programme of special events that are sure to excite both professionals and horse enthusiasts alike.

One such attraction is the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship (DIAHC) which runs alongside DIHF. This dazzling competition showcases the beauty, agility and heritage of purebred Arabian horses welcoming entrants from all over the world. A panel of expert judges from the European Conference of Arab Horse Organisation (ECAHO) will be on hand to evaluate entrants for beauty and performance.

The Horse Auction for Arabian horses, organised by Al Faisal Stud is another key event which traditionally attracts several hundred horse buyers from around the globe. Mr Faisal Al Rahmani and his company Al Faisal Stud, have been gathering agents, breeders and owners for auctions in the UAE since 2001 and are set once again to deliver a wide selection of horses. The auction will be held between 4:00 pm and 8:00pm on the 3rd of April and a catalogue will be made available a few days before the show

Visitors can also look forward to impressive displays by the children of the Al Ahli Horse Riding Club, in the purpose built riding and show jumping arena. They will also be introduced to the thrill of leisure riding and offered basic riding lessons.



Mr. Rashid Suhail Al Darbi, General Manager of Al Ahli Horse Riding Club, commented "The show displays held on the 1st of April between 2:00 pm and 6:00pm and on the 2nd and 4th April, between 5:00pm and 8:00pm and will be an ideal opportunity, for beginners to pick up some excellent tips from the experts."

Another event worth attending will be the brilliant display of coordination between man and horse by the Dubai Police, as they display their riding skills.

Aspiring jockeys and riders can also try their hand at racing each other in the horse simulator feature at DIHF. These virtual races are played on mechanical horses, giving the rider the thrill of being in an actual race. This feature is brought to DIHF by the Dubai based consultancy company Funtasia, a company which provides a one-stop solution for amusement and entertainment projects.

Both art and horse enthusiasts should not miss the fascinating equine art exhibition at the Horse Fair, featuring well known artists from across the region and from around the world. From bronze sculpture to painting and photography, there will be the beauty and attention to detail apparent in the art on display that makes it worth the visit.

Last but not least, there will be a display of miniature horses from a private Stud. These small horses are a special attraction for the all visitors.

Overall, the Dubai International Horse Fair promises excitement, entertainment and education like never before. This year there seems to be something for everyone to enjoy.

Dubai International Horse Fair 2007 will be held in Hall 1 and Zabeel Hall at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).
The event will take place from 1 – 4 April 2007 and Opening Hours are 11:00 – 19:00 on 1 April, and 14:00 – 21:00 on 2 – 4 April. Admission to DIHF is free of charge, and open to both trade and general public. All persons under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
